About the course

The Screen Acting Intermediate is a six-week intensive designed for actors who are ready to sharpen their screen acting skills and go further than the acting basics.

The Screen Acting Intermediate Course will equip you with the necessary skills, relevant to take your acting craft to the next level. Going beyond the basics means developing a confident understanding of the characters that are brought to life on screen, and the essential adjustments that must be made within that process. Further developing your approach to screen and characterisation will help you present in auditions and on set as the unique YOU in a relaxed, focused and charismatic way.

Screenwise classes are strictly boutique in size to ensure quality of delivery. Intake for the Screen Acting Intermediate is limited to 14 students.

COURSE OUTCOMES

  • How to create interesting back stories
  • Finding motivation that propels the character
  • Learn how to interpret clean actions and clear objectives
  • Develop the ability to maintain performance whilst making high stake choices
  • Understanding a scene through listening to the author
  • Develop the ability to apply monologue as a personal story
  • Improving your ability to receive feedback and follow consistent direction
  • Confident application on camera in performance through weekly scene work

  • Anyone wanting to improve their confidence and interpersonal skills
  • Year 11 and HSC Drama Students wishing to enhance their studies

Prerequisites:

  • Completed Screenwise Screen Acting Beginners Course or an equivalent short course
    OR
  • Relevant Film, Theatre or Television Experience (CV will be required on application for selection).
