Eligibility Requirements for the Intermediate Course

  • To enroll in the Screen Acting Intermediate Course, aspiring actors must meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • Completion of Screenwise’s Beginner Course or equivalent acting training
  • Demonstrated proficiency in fundamental acting techniques or an audition will apply.

Transitioning from Beginner to Intermediate Course

Applicants can opt directly for the Intermediate Course however an audition will apply unless they have completed the Screen Acting For Beginners course or similar. We recommend starting at the beginner level if you have no prior acting experience. Explore our Screen Acting Beginners Course to learn more and make an informed decision about your acting journey.

The Screen Acting Intermediate Course focuses on honing screen acting techniques, character development, scene study, emotional range, audition preparation, physicality and more, all on camera. Through practical exercises, and personalised feedback from industry professionals, students develop the skills and confidence needed to excel in auditions and on set.

Upon completion of the Screen Acting Intermediate Course, we highly recommend advancing to our 12 month part-time Showreel Course or our Government Accredited two year full-time Advanced Diploma of Screen Acting. Completed the Screen Acting Beginners Course or an equivalent short course

Relevant Film, Theatre or Television Experience (CV will be required on application for selection).

One you’ve got a grasp of the essentials where to next? The Screen Acting Intermediate Course at Screenwise is designed for those with some experience, but looking to push themselves a little further with more scene work and opportunities to act.

With the business of learning the basics out of the way, the intermediate course is designed to get actors starting their journeys doing what matters most to learn the craft: acting. Working with currently working film and TV actors as tutors students will gain more hands on experience with the craft of acting.

After completing the intermediate course, you may want to move on to the advanced course to start familiarising yourself with the more technical demands of screen acting. Or maybe you want to take your journey to the next level and kick-start your career with the part-time Showreel Course, or give yourself two years of immersive actor-training with the Advanced Diploma of Screen Acting.

Yes, to take part in the Intermediate Course actors must provide evidence of prior acting training or experience and a familiarity with the foundational skills of acting covered in the Screen Acting Beginners Course (eg: actions, motivations and objectives).
