How To Film Your Monologue

A monologue is a singular character performance, most often to express their thoughts aloud or directly addressing another character or the audience.

When completing the 10869NAT Advanced Diploma of Screen Acting application with Screenwise, you are required to submit a one-minute monologue.

This is required so that the Screenwise industry panel can assess your application.

All that is required is a one-minute video of yourself performing to camera or to another person slightly off of camera.

The initial application monologue must be recorded on a video camera or iPhone.

Choose a monologue (which is a piece with only one person talking) of a character from a feature film or television series and record yourself performing the scene for the one-minute. This can be happy or sad and should be in your natural accent.

Then once satisfied with your performance, upload to Youtube or Vimeo as an unlisted (private) link.
