Screenwise Alumni Nathaniel Buzolic Taking a Big Bite Out of the Actor’s Life

Do you dream about the red carpet and the big screen? Screenwise Showreel graduate Nathaniel Buzolic did! Read on to find out how a young man with acting dreams landed a major role in the cult television series “The Vampire Diaries” and Mel Gibson’s critically acclaimed film “Hacksaw Ridge”.

Buzolic studied at De La Salle School in Ashfield. Buzolic’s leadership skills and ability to captivate the audience was demonstrated when he was appointed school captain of De La Salle in 2001. Surprisingly enough, acting was not Nathaniel’s original career path. Young Nathaniel lived and breathed basketball until an injury side-lined him in year 9. It was during his extended recovery that he discovered his passion for acting.

Nathaniel began to study acting in his senior years inside and outside of the classroom before completing the Showreel Course at Screenwise in 2004. Equipped with a toolkit for professional screen acting training and a state-of-the-art Showreel, Nathan was ready to take on the world!
Since graduating from Screenwise, Nathaniel has enjoyed success across a range of Australian and international programs that have found a cult following and critical acclaim. Following from early television roles in a number of popular programs including “Home and Away”, “All Saints”, “Out Of The Blue” and “Crownies”, Nathaniel made his first major TV breakthrough playing Kol Mikaelson on the highly successful US Television Series “The Vampire Diaries”.

Nathaniel has since received his own cult following which led to a reprisal of his role as Kol, in the The Vampire Diaries spin-off “The Originals: Awakening”. Nathaniel continues to roll from high to high. Since Vampire Diaries he has appeared in the TV Series “Pretty Little Liars” and “Significant Mother”, and most recently starred alongside Andy Garfield in Academy Award-Winning Film “Hacksaw Ridge”.

If you are serious about becoming an actor, it is imperative that you have a professional showreel. Most importantly, you need the skills and confidence to back up the performances on your showreel when opportunity calls.
