Chris Hemsworth

Screenwise Film & TV School for Actors alumnus Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor who first gained recognition on the popular TV series Home and Away (2004–2007), where he played Kim Hyde. While working on the show, he studied part-time at Screenwise in Sydney to further develop his screen-acting skills and American accent.

After moving into international film, Hemsworth became globally famous for portraying Thor in multiple movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Thor and appearing in several related blockbuster films.

Beyond the MCU, he has built a diverse film career with roles in major productions such as Star Trek, Snow White and the Huntsman, Red Dawn, Blackhat, and Men in Black: International. In 2024, Hemsworth portrayed Dr Dementus in George Miller’s Mad Max: Furiosa.

Today, Hemsworth is one of Australia’s most internationally successful actors, known for both blockbuster action roles and dramatic performances, with his early training at Screenwise forming part of the foundation of his screen-acting career.
