Darren McMullen

Best known for The Voice, Darren McMullen has been the host of The Lair on MTV – the biggest live local music show ever attempted in Australia.

Hosting the best party in town every week gave Darren the chance to get to know and party with some of the hottest international acts as well as breaking artists seen in Australia. The Killers, My Chemical Romance, Jet, Kasabian, Xzibit, Alice Cooper, Paramore, Juliette Lewis and the Licks, Hilltop Hoods, Peaches, Grinspoon, Scribe, Arrested Development, Fall Out Boy and The Klaxons are just a few acts to visit Darren at The Lair.

Darren also hosts Cinebuzz for Greater Union where he interviews local and visiting Hollywood stars, discusses the latest cinema releases and entertainment news. Cinebuzz can be seen in Greater Union Cinemas nationally.

Scottish born, Darren travelled the globe before settling down in Sydney to pursue his dream of a career in television. He started on Arena TV, hosting the entertainment program, Exclusive. Exclusive was a mix of the latest celebrity news and gossip, the hottest red carpet premieres and in-depth interviews with the world’s biggest stars.  Interviews include Jennifer Aniston, Vince Vaughan, Kate Hudson Sarah Jessica Parker, Charlize Theron, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams, Peter Jackson, Hugh Jackman, Harrison Ford, Rihanna, director JJ Abrams, British legend Richard E Grant, Viggo Mortensen, and international and local bands INXS, The Scissor Sisters, Girls Aloud, The Darkness, The Veronicas and Westlife.

A talented performer, Darren has produced and appears in various youtube pieces as his alter ego ‘Jean Pierre’, covering music festivals and red carpet events. Darren has also starred in various short films including the critically acclaimed The Rage of Dave.
