Q: What attracted you to study at Screenwise?

What attracted me to study at Screenwise was the element of learning performance for screen and how that differs from theatre in terms of the technical requirements.

Q: How has it been working with the tutors and staff at Screenwise?

The tutors have been really invaluable providing their experience; it’s fantastic and inspiring to see them working in their field. The tutors don’t shy away from the nitty gritty questions we have about the industry and they really encourage us to forge, delve and reflect on our practice.

Q: Highlight of studying at Screenwise so far?

A highlight for me was learning the Eric Morrison technique with Winston Cooper.

Q: If you can sum up the Showreel Course in one word what would it be?

Business!

Q: How has the Showreel Course benefitted you as an emerging actor?

If you’re wanting to pursue performance for screen then a Showreel is necessary for an agent and casting director. It’s a little taste of your work laid down on tape. Coming from a theatre background, it was nice to explore the similarities and differences when it comes to screen acting. It’s also designated time each week to explore, play and grow your practice.

Q: What kind of flexibility does the Showreel Course offer you?

Being able to study part time enables me to work the remainder of the week. Screenwise offers evening classes for those who need to work the 9 to 5. Having said that, Screenwise is a commitment so external work needs to be done in your own time to prepare for the following week.

The Showreel Course 2019 is a one-year, part-time program offering students a toolkit for professional screen acting training and a state-of-the-art showreel required to meet the demands of today’s film and television industry.
