Q: What attracted you to study at Screenwise?
While still at school I completed the Beginners and Intermediate course. My goal was to take the next step as an actor and I felt that the Showreel Course would offer me the opportunity to develop skills in all areas of screen acting. I was also attracted to the course for the award-winning actors teaching at Screenwise.
Q: How has it been working with the tutors and staff at Screenwise?
It has been inspiring to work with industry professionals who have provided care and guidance and are really invested in my development as an actor.
Q: Highlight of studying at Screenwise so far?
Highlights have been shooting the showreels and having the opportunity to work on a professional set. I also met many people and made a lot of friends who have similar interests that I can relate to.
Q: If you can sum up the Showreel Course in one word what would it be?
Q: How has the Showreel Course benefitted you as an emerging actor?
The Showreel Course has given me the confidence and experience to be on set. I have developed skills such as an American accent and how to use a green screen alongside other essential acting skills needed for the industry today. I also have a professional showreel which showcases my skills which will help in securing work in the industry, and the business training is has a huge help in teaching me how to best present myself to agents and casting directors alike.
Q: What kind of flexibility does the Showreel Course offer you?
I found the study pattern of one day a week beneficial as it allowed me the time to develop the skills learnt in class each week. I was also able to work and study at the same time so this pattern gave me the balance I needed in my life.
The Showreel Course commencing in July 2019 is a one-year, part-time program offering students a toolkit for professional screen acting training and a state-of-the-art showreel required to meet the demands of today’s film and television industry.
