Screenwise offers state-of-the-art training that is up-to-date with Film and Television Industry standards that are adopted in Australia, the United States and across the Globe. No matter where you’re from, it is important that the training that you receive can be put into practice anywhere that your career may take you!

The Diploma of Screen Acting (10065NAT) is a two-year full-time comprehensive creative and technical screen acting program that is available to International Students*. It covers the full spectrum of skills training required to produce a highly skilled, professional screen actor. The course curriculum mixes a strong academic element with a hard-nosed professionalism, providing total
focus and immersion training in the unique skills and techniques required for screen acting to meet the demands of today’s industry.

Diploma of Screen Acting Graduates have moved on to critical and commercial success working as actors, voiceover artists, as well as directors and producers across the film and television industry.

With the majority of renowned acting schools in Australia focusing on theatre, Screenwise aims to give students the crucial skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the film and television industry anywhere across the globe.

Located directly across the road from Central Station, Screenwise is located in the heart of Sydney’s creative hub where design, cafes and music are flourishing. Our Surry Hills location is superbly located within walking distance to all amenities and a quick train ride to Sydney’s most iconic locations including Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay.

Requirements of Study for International Students

Visa Requirements
To study the Diploma of Screen Acting (10065NAT) at Screenwise you must have a valid Australian visa. Student visas are temporary visas that allow people to come to Australia for a specified period to study at an Australian educational institution. Student visa information and how to apply is available from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) at or phone 131 881.

Students studying in Australia on a student visa must have overseas student health cover as part of the conditions of their student visa. International Student applicants are advised to acquire their own OSHC from an independent provider and this must be valid for the duration of study of their course in conjunction with meeting the requirements of their temporary student Visa. Screenwise cannot provide, offer or recommend OSHC cover of any kind as this should be aquired at the discretion of the international student. The OSHC cover selected by the student must fulfil all of their student visa requirements and is a compulsory requirement prior to matriculation in the Diploma of Screen Acting (1006NAT).

Language Proficiency
All classes at Screenwise are conducted in English. If English is not your first language you will need to provide certified evidence of your English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS level 6.5 or TOEFL IBT (Internet based test) level 46 – 59 prior to matriculation in the Diploma of Screen Acting (1006NAT).

The National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2007 (National Code)

The National Code is a set of nationally consistent standards that governs the protection of overseas students and delivery of courses to those students by providers registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Only CRICOS courses can be offered to international students studying in Australia on a student visa.

Tuition Protection Service

The Tuition Protection Service (TPS) is a placement and refund service to assist international students whose education providers are unable to fully deliver their course of study. The TPS ensures that international students are able to either complete their studies in another course or with another education provider or receive a refund of their unspent tuition fees.
