Screenteens Acting Classes for Young Adults (8-Week Classes)

Has your dream always been to become a professional actor? Our Screenteens acting classes for young adults, may be your ticket to stardom.

The Screenteens 8-week Intensive is designed for young actors between 12 – 16 years old who are looking for a successful move into the Film and Television Industry. This program is the ideal platform for all young adults interested in commencing or extending their experience in front of the camera. No audition is required!

Students will learn how to break down a scene, build a character, find the truth in performing, use props, take direction, master continuity and act in front of the camera each week – all within a fun, yet professional learning environment.

Screenteens acting classes run in conjunction with school terms each Saturday morning, with one class per week over an 8-week period- making it the perfect course for you. No audition is required. Places are strictly limited.

This 8-week intensive will equip students with the following industry tools:

>   Breaking down a scene
>   Interpreting dialogue
>   Learning to take direction
>   Understanding character motivation
>   Mastering continuity on camera
>   Find the truth in performance
>   Building characters
>   Working with props
>   Perfecting audition techniques

Our tutors are high profile professional actors, who work closely with students in small boutique classes providing them the best industry advice and acting tuition on offer.

Headshots of Screenteens who are currently attending acting classes (and are not represented by an agent) are kept on file and submitted to casting consultants for audition consideration whenever there is a suitable Film or TV series being cast. Thanks to referrals from Screenwise, many of our students are now represented by some of Sydney’s top Acting Agencies.

About Your Tutor - Mark Lee

Mark has worked in film, television and theatre for over thirty years. Following a role in Peter Weir’s ‘Gallipoli’ (1981), he has appeared in the films, ‘Sahara’, ‘Love Stories’, ‘Chameleon’ ‘Emma’s War’ and ‘Blackwater Trail’. Television work includes ‘Vietnam’ (Kennedy/Miller), ‘Out There’ & ‘Crownies’ (ABC) , ‘Packed to the Rafters’ (Channel 7) and ‘Paper Giants 2 – Magazine Wars’ (ABC). In 2008 he narrated and presented the documentary ‘Not Forgotten’ (SBS). He is currently a regular guest on the series ‘A Place to Call Home’ on Foxtel – 2015/16. Stage work includes ‘Long Day’s Journey into Night’ (QTC), ‘The Cobra’ (STC), ‘Hay Fever’ (Playhouse), ‘Miracle of the Rose’ (Belvoir St) ‘Unit 46’...
