About the course

The Screen Acting Intermediate: Live and Online is a six-week intensive designed for actors who are ready to sharpen their screen acting skills and go further than the acting basics.

The Screen Acting Intermediate Course will equip you with the necessary skills, relevant to take your acting craft to the next level. Going beyond the basics means developing a confident understanding of the characters that are brought to life on screen, and the essential adjustments that must be made within that process. Further developing your approach to screen and characterisation will help you present in auditions and on set as the unique YOU in a relaxed, focused and charismatic way.

Screenwise classes are strictly boutique in size to ensure quality of delivery. Intake for the Screen Acting Intermediate Online Course is limited to 14 students.

COURSE OUTCOMES

The course outcomes for the online edition of Screen Acting Intermediate has been designed to ensure that all learning outcomes are equivalent to in-person classes.

  • How to create interesting back stories
  • Finding motivation that propels the character
  • Learn how to interpret clean actions and clear objectives
  • Develop the ability to maintain performance whilst making high stake choices
  • Understanding a scene through listening to the author
  • Develop the ability to apply monologue as a personal story
  • Improving your ability to receive feedback and follow consistent direction
  • Confident application on camera in performance through weekly scene work

This class offers the same learning outcomes achieved through in-person classes at our studios. Online learning provides the opportunity for you to learn in the comfort of your own home as you connect live with our award-winning and industry leading tutors.

Please note: Screenwise is up to date with all developments involving COVID-19 as they occur. This class will be hosted online and is conditional upon proper direction from NSW Health until such time where the class may be hosted in person at our studios in Surry Hills. 

Prerequisites: Completed Screenwise Screen Acting Beginners Course or an equivalent short course (CV will be required on application for selection).

About Your Tutor - Maya Stange

Maya Stange is an Award-Winning highly sought after and respected film and television actress and director, known for her starring roles in a range of films including A Suburban Love Story, Killing Ground, Garage Days and XX/XY, and the popular US hit TV show Burn Notice.
