About the course

In this six-part Audition and Screen Test class at Screenwise, actors will undertake intensive training to prepare them for auditions and screen tests that they will attend as a professional actor.

A working actor over the span of their career will face countless rejections in order to obtain screen acting roles. This six-part intensive workshop focuses on the skills and stamina needed to stay positive, to win roles and work in the Film & TV Industry.

Actors will deconstruct every possible audition and screen test scenario in this class. In an intimate and supportive group environment, students will learn ‘what it takes’ to deliver their best performance each time they audition or screen test.

Working closely with acclaimed Australian actress Rhondda Findleton (Secret City, Cleverman, Wolf Creek, Crownies, East West 101, Blood Brothers, City Homicide, Love My Way), this class digs deep and challenges confidence levels in a serious-but-fun environment. Students will develop tools to conquer nerves, techniques to drive their performances and importantly, gain the knowledge they need to succeed at auditions and screen tests throughout their career.

The skills required of actors auditioning for film and TV are vastly different to those in theatre. This workshop focusses on the skills needed to secure screen acting work. Covering the smallest details from what to wear, right through to addressing your biggest audition and screen test fears, a serious actor cannot afford to miss this workshop.

Curriculum includes:

* Script Work
* Making Creative Choices
* Personalising the Story
* Being Spontaneous
* Identifying and Using your Strengths
* How to harness nerves
* Bringing belief and confidence to the work
